Overview

Reformular ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Reformular mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier, and optionally your name and email address if you choose to share them.

Content you provide. Messages, meal logs, photos you send for analysis, nutrition goals, body profile data, dietary preferences, and coaching settings.

Subscription data. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts to verify entitlements. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Location. If you grant location permission, we collect your country only, not precise location, to improve regional food recognition accuracy.

Apple Health data. If you connect Apple Health, we may read steps, active energy burned, weight, and height. Step and activity data are used for in-app progress views. Weight and height may populate your app profile and weight history. If you enable HealthKit sync, we may also write dietary energy and weight entries back to Apple Health. We do not sell Apple Health data or use it for advertising. We do not send Apple Health data to AI providers, advertising platforms, or data brokers.

Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device token to deliver reminders and coaching messages.

Device information. We may process device timezone and related technical data needed to operate the app.

How We Use Information

To operate the app, save your history, and personalize the experience.
To process meal logs and photos using AI services and generate nutrition responses.
To calculate nutrition targets based on your body profile and goals.
To verify and manage subscriptions.
To display HealthKit-connected progress data and sync meals and weight with Apple Health when you enable those features.
To send notifications if you opt in.

AI Processing

When you send text or photos for meal logging, we transmit your message content and relevant context, such as country, goals, and dietary preferences, to third-party AI service providers for processing. Meal photos are transmitted for analysis. We do not send your Apple Health data, precise location, or Apple account credentials to AI providers.

Third-Party Services

We use the following categories of service providers:

Convex for backend infrastructure and data storage.
RevenueCat for subscription management and receipt validation.
AI providers via OpenRouter and Perplexity for meal analysis and nutrition lookup.
Apple for authentication, HealthKit integration, push notifications, and in-app purchases.

Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account remains active, unless a longer period is required by law or operational necessity. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated data in accordance with our retention and backup practices.

Your Rights

Access and deletion. You can delete your account and associated data from the app.
Permissions. You can revoke camera, photo library, location, HealthKit, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
Additional rights. Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Consumer Health Data Notice

If you use nutrition, body, meal-photo, or Apple Health features, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice also applies.

Eligibility and Minors

Reformular is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app, email, or by updating the date at the top of this page.
