Reformular ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your Apple ID identifier and display name through Apple Sign In.
Food Data: Photos and text descriptions of food you submit for nutritional analysis. These are processed by AI and stored to provide the service.
Health Data: If you grant permission, we read and write data from Apple Health (steps, active calories, weight, dietary energy). This data is only used locally and to improve your in-app experience.
Location: If you grant permission, we collect your country (not precise location) to improve regional food recognition accuracy.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage analytics to improve the App.
How We Use Your Information
- To identify foods and calculate nutritional information
- To provide personalized nutrition coaching
- To track your daily macro intake and progress
- To sync with Apple Health (with your permission)
- To improve food recognition accuracy for regional cuisines
- To send you proactive nutrition reminders (with your permission)
AI Processing
Your food photos and descriptions are processed by third-party AI services (Google Gemini via OpenRouter, Perplexity) to identify foods and retrieve nutritional data. These services process your data according to their respective privacy policies. We do not share your personal identity with these services — only the food content is sent for analysis.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Convex (our backend provider). Food photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- AI processing services (food data only, anonymized)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Apple (through HealthKit, stored on-device only)
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt out of location and health data collection
- Export your food log data
Data Deletion
You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at hello@reformular.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Reformular is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email.
